New WhatsApp Update Allows you to Hide Muted Statuses Completely

The messaging app, whatsApp is currently testing  a new update which will allow its users to permanently hide muted statuses by default.

The latest feature was spotted on WhatsApp’s 2.19.260 beta version for Android months ago and is likely to roll out to the public anytime.

According to a report published on WABetainfo, the new version will include a “Hide Muted Status Update” feature. The new release is a reliever to user who get annoyed by some of the people in their contacts who shared unwanted content, pictures or TikTok videos in their WhatsApp statuses. The current version of the app only allows you to mute the status which are available see muted status updates at the end of the scroll in the status tab.

The hide muted status update will allow the users to completely hide the muted updates from the WhatsApp Status tab.

While the update is not yet available to everyone, users who wish to get this new option in their app right away can join Google Play Beta Program or download the latest version of the app via APK Mirror.

The app has over 1.5 billion users worldwide with every user having hundreds of contacts and tens of statuses appearing in their status tab. The new update is a solution to those who find it hard to ignore other people’s statuses or those that they perceive as annoying.
