You can now purchase bundles, calls and SMSs with no expiry date from Safaricom.  Customers who dial *544# have two new options one being, Data Bundle (NO EXPIRY DATE) and the other, Calls and SMS (NO EXPIRY DATE). Safaricom unveiled its new system which it dubbed, ‘Simple. Transparent. Honest.’

While celebrating its 19th anniversary, Safaricom’s CEO, Michael Joseph, issued a statement saying where he explained that they had done a review on all their services and products and every which way they serve the public and decided to make the commitment to be simple, transparent and honest.

Safaricom customers have also been assured that they will be served within 5 minutes of lodging complaints. There will also be free WIFI at Safaricom shops and that simcards with one’s choice of number will be available. Customers are also going to be able to manage subscriptions, manage data, stop promotional messages, view data usage and get data management tips as well as PUK number by simply dialing *100#.

Last year, Safaricom crowned its 18th anniversary with a campaign which it dubbed, ‘Nawe Kila Wakati’ and at this time all its subscribers received 18 minutes of talk time for Ksh1.80. The subscribers to this promotion were allowed to redeem the talk time once a day in the promotion that ran up the 12th of December.

The latest move to introduce the data bundles with no expiry date comes hot on the heels of the free You Tube bundles that were unveiled by Eliud Kipchoge’s INEOS challenge where safaricom subscribers had free streaming of You Tube from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm to stream the Vienna race.
