Free-to-air TV Channels rise to 81 Between Jan -March 2019

According to the latest data by the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), the number of free-to-air television channels in Kenya increased to 81 in the three months ending in March 2019.

The  data also shows that digital TV subscription also increased slightly by 1.5 per cent to 5.8 million during the period.

Music had the highest weekly average among all programs at 32.4 per cent while talk shows genre was rated second with a weekly average of 21.6 percent in local programming. Religious shows came in third at 20.4 percent, followed by magazine shows at 7 percent. Documentaries and education programs tied at 5.8 percent.
