A Billion Startups Presents the May Edition of Entrepreneurship Forum

A Billion Startups has announced the May edition of the entrepreneurship forum. The event slated for May 25th, 2019 at the Ngong Hills Hotel will run from 9.00AM to 12.00PM.

The May edition brings together Nairobi’s top business thought leaders led by Paxful CEO Ray Youssef who will be headlining the forum as the guest speaker. Other speakers expected to grace the forum include Mary Njoki (CEO Glass House PR), Simon Kabu (CEO Bonfire Adventures) and Suzie Wokabi (CEO Suzie Beauty).

The speakers are expected to give talks about their entrepreneurial journey and lessons they have picked.

Speaker’s profiles
Ray Youssef likes to describe himself as a serial entrepreneur. Being an angel investor, Ray is highly experienced in developing businesses. With over ten failed startups during his early days, he has picked important business lessons that he is glad to share.

Having grown in New York City working in his parent’s newsstand, Ray was quick to identify business opportunities. Almost five years before iTunes Ray was already selling 30- second monophonic ringtones.

Ray Youseff is currently the CEO of Paxful, a crypto trading platform. The company has a web wallet that stores customer’s private keys with a technology that uses 2-factor authentication mechanism.

Mary Njoki is the founder and CEO of Glass House PR. At the age of 23 armed with only Ksh6,000 and a laptop, Mary set out to build her PR company. Several years later Mary says the struggle has been worth the gains. She boasts of several awards including Founder of the Year 2016 by FOYA Awards, Young African Women Leadership Excellence Award by center of Economics and Development and recognition by Amazon Watch Magazine in 2017 as Top 40 under 40 women in Leadership across Africa.

Simon Kabu’s story is that of a tout transforming to a business magnate. With an idea and believe, Kabu and his wife Sarah started to build Bonfire Adventures in 2008. As it was planned, Bonfire Adventures has grown over the years and currently boasts of being the industry leader. Simon Kabu says business demands a lot of dedication and a lot of persistence to succeed.

Suzie Wokabi is the founder and CEO of SuzieBeauty. Having worked in the Fashion and beauty industry in New York, Suzie returned home in 2009 with a decided mind to develop products for the African skin. She been featured in different glossy magazines, appeared on the New York Times and has been dubbed the “The Face of African Beauty” by CNN.
