We begun sharing photos and videos of our little but thrilling adventures on our social media accounts. Soon we realised many people were actually interested in knowing more about the places we visit.
It is a bit too obvious that most people especially the youth like to hang out in restaurants. Well, for us two as much as we also really like to hang out in restaurants and pretty much enjoy doing so, we are just a little bit different. We opted not to do the cliché but instead hang out in places that people don’t know or rarely visit. Most of these places are considered boring and shady or in some cases people assume they aren’t affordable.
We therefore decided to create our blog to reach out to people. The highlight of it is the fact that our posts are detailed enough to provide people with numerous destinations far from normal which are fun and interesting in Kenya for friends, best friends, spouse or family to visit, hold birthdays, picnics, explore together on top of many other things you could possibly do.
The blog is also more of a way of promoting domestic tourism. There’s a lot to see here! Thus our tagline for the website: APPRECIATING KENYA. One question to ask would be why travel all the way to see The BurjKhalifa when you haven’t been to The KICC? Of course it is the world’s tallest building and perhaps maybe far much more interesting that the KICC but why not start by promoting the tourism industry in Kenya? It’s only reasonable for a Kenyan to visit the Maasai Mara first before going all the way to Australia to see a kangaroo. Maasai Mara is a home for the Lions which most foreigners save up for quite some time to come and see. So why would a Kenyan go look for the same thrill elsewhere?
We acknowledge the fact that maybe enough has not been done by the tourism industry in Kenya to promote domestic tourism. Most focus goes into promoting international tourism. This is the reason many Kenyans do not have any ideas or perhaps many ideas on amazing places to visit right here in Kenya.
Based on our experience, we have taken it upon ourselves as stated earlier to promote domestic tourism on top of what the Kenyan tourism industry is doing.
Besides promoting domestic tourism, we are also using our blog as a platform where people from other countries may come across and get several ideas on where to visit when they visit Kenya and hence also promoting international tourism.
